Software licence
Teslatlas Hub’s project-authored and other AGPL-covered material is free software under GNU Affero General Public License version 3 only (AGPL-3.0-only), together with the permitted section 7 notices. The complete GNU AGPL licence governs the software. This website summary does not remove or override any freedom it grants.
You may use, study, modify and share covered software under the licence, including for commercial use, hosted use and competition. Read the licensing guidance for the project’s licence boundaries. Earlier releases offered under AGPL-3.0-or-later remain available under that grant; the current version choice does not revoke existing recipients’ rights.
Attribution and notices
The section 7 additional terms apply only to material Magrathean owns or is authorised to license. Preserve reasonable author and legal attribution in applicable source distributions and existing legal-notice facilities. Mark conveyed modified versions clearly, including the relevant modification date, and do not misrepresent their origin.
No new splash screen or promotional placement is required. Do not imply that a modified product is an official, sponsored or endorsed Magrathean release without authority. The licence does not grant trade mark rights in Magrathean or Teslatlas names, logos or presentation; lawful descriptive use remains permitted.
These notices do not impose royalties, revenue sharing, fields-of-use restrictions or a prohibition on interoperability. They cannot add further restrictions prohibited by the GNU AGPL.
Corresponding Source
Hub is distributed as source. Prebuilt GitHub releases and binary downloads were withdrawn on 5 September 2026; historical source tags remain available. Follow the build guide for a local package.
If you distribute object-code builds, fulfil the GNU AGPL’s Corresponding Source obligations for the exact version distributed, including the required build and installation material. If you modify Hub and your version supports remote network interaction, section 13 requires a prominent offer of its Corresponding Source to users interacting with it remotely.
Use the Corresponding Source guidance and the licence to determine the applicable obligations. A link to an unrelated tag or a newer main checkout is not a substitute for source matching the actual version. Local source builds do not automatically gain trusted signing or notarisation.
Third-party material and services
Separately identified third-party code, data and assets keep their own licences and notices. Preserve upstream notices where required. See the project notice and third-party notices.
The software licence does not grant access to Tesla or another provider’s systems. You remain responsible for account authority, provider terms and lawful use of connected services. Technical compatibility does not imply affiliation, endorsement or permission to copy protected material outside its licence.
Teslatlas Hub is an independent, unofficial project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Tesla, Inc. or the official TeslaMate project. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Operating Hub
You are responsible for credentials, access controls, network exposure, monitoring, retention, lawful data processing, backups and restore testing. Use only accounts, vehicles and data you are authorised to access. Consult the deployment privacy guidance and Hub website privacy notice.
Hub includes explicit vehicle commands where supported by your configuration. They affect the real vehicle: select only the intended action and review confirmations. Hub is a telemetry and analysis system, not a safety system. Do not rely on it for emergency response, autonomous or remote vehicle control, or determining whether a vehicle is safe to drive.
Keep test and debug endpoints out of production. Do not run another collector against the same credentials where concurrent refresh can invalidate access. Maintain independent backups and test restoration before migration or upgrade.
Accuracy and safety
Telemetry may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, corrupted or interpreted incorrectly. Battery, efficiency, charging, cost, route and parked-drain outputs are informational estimates. Seek qualified inspection or independent verification before safety, repair, warranty, insurance, financial or legal decisions.
Do not rely on Hub for certified billing or taxation accuracy, forensic evidence preservation, medical or other high-risk use. Read the safety and use limits for the full published guidance.
Warranty and support
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the software is supplied without warranty, including warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, data accuracy, security or recovery. The GNU AGPL’s warranty and liability provisions apply to covered software.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
Hub comes without a support commitment. Paid support, hosting, service levels or support for modified builds require a separate written agreement. Consult the support policy for supported platform and version scope and security policy for private reporting. A donation does not itself establish a support or service agreement.
Legal notices
For non-consumer matters outside the GNU AGPL where a valid choice is possible, English law applies and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory statutory, consumer and forum rights remain unaffected.
