Important notices

Teslatlas is an independent, proprietary Apple analytics app compatible with separately installed TeslaMate and MyTeslaMate sources. Your vehicle history is kept on your device after sync unless you choose to export or send material.

TeslaMate is a separate open-source project maintained by its community. We appreciate the work of its maintainers and contributors.

Teslatlas reads from a separately installed, user-controlled source into an on-device mirror. It never changes TeslaMate data, never writes to the configured source system, and does not send Tesla vehicle commands.

This project is an unofficial community tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the official TeslaMate project.

Teslatlas is not a Tesla product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Tesla, Inc. It does not provide a Tesla command surface, does not unlock, drive, charge, stop, precondition, update, control, or otherwise command a vehicle, and should not be used for emergency, safety-critical, or operational control purposes.

Battery-health predictions, charge-doctor findings, parked-drain detection, efficiency trends, route summaries, cost estimates, weather context, confidence labels, and other Teslatlas analytics are informational only. They are not repair advice, warranty advice, insurance advice, resale valuation, safety certification, financial advice, or an engineering diagnosis. Do not rely on Teslatlas to decide whether a vehicle is safe, whether to repair or replace a component, whether to make a warranty claim, whether to buy or sell a vehicle, or whether to change driving or charging behaviour in a way that could affect safety.

Vehicle telemetry, location history, trip routes, geofences, charging locations, VINs, and repeated usage patterns can be sensitive personal data. Use Teslatlas only for vehicles and data you are lawfully entitled to access.

Definitions

“App” means the Teslatlas software application for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and any related app extension, build, update, beta, or release made available by Magrathean.

“Magrathean”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean MAGRATHEAN UK LTD.

“Teslatlas” means the App, the Teslatlas website, documentation, support materials, and any related service or content provided by Magrathean.

“Source system” means a separately installed TeslaMate PostgreSQL database, MyTeslaMate-compatible API endpoint, Cloudflare Access-protected endpoint, reverse proxy, VPN endpoint, local server, hosted server, or other endpoint that you configure the App to access.

“Vehicle data” means data about a vehicle, user, route, location, charging event, battery, cost, trip, driver, passenger, household, geofence, endpoint, or account that is imported, generated, displayed, stored, exported, or analysed through Teslatlas.

“Export” means any private backup, support bundle, public-share bundle, CSV file, diagnostic file, screenshot, log, or other file created by or from Teslatlas.

Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 16 years old to use Teslatlas unless a parent or guardian is responsible for your use, and you must not use Teslatlas if you are under 13. Teslatlas is not directed to children.

You must have authority to access every vehicle, TeslaMate database, MyTeslaMate account, API endpoint, server, credential, token, proxy, geofence, route, charge session, and export that you use with Teslatlas. If you use Teslatlas for a family, employer, fleet, customer, or shared vehicle, you are responsible for obtaining any consents, notices, permissions, and lawful bases required from drivers, passengers, employees, household members, customers, or other affected people.

If you use Teslatlas on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. In that case, “you” includes the organisation.

Licence

Subject to these Terms and Apple’s applicable rules, Magrathean grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, or otherwise as permitted by Apple’s rules, for your own personal or internal business use.

You must not:

• copy, modify, adapt, translate, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, host, or make Teslatlas available to others except as Apple’s platform rules allow;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code except to the limited extent mandatory law allows;
• remove proprietary notices, licence notices, or security controls;
• use Teslatlas to access data you are not authorised to access;
• use Teslatlas to stalk, monitor, or profile another person unlawfully;
• use Teslatlas for vehicle control, emergency response, safety-critical decisions, or regulated professional advice;
• interfere with, overload, scan, attack, or bypass security on any Magrathean, Apple, TeslaMate, MyTeslaMate, Tesla, Cloudflare, Open-Meteo, or third-party system;
• use Teslatlas in a way that breaches law, third-party terms, export controls, sanctions, privacy rights, intellectual-property rights, or these Terms.

Magrathean reserves all rights not expressly granted.

Local-first design and product boundary

Teslatlas is designed to import or mirror data from source systems into local device storage for local analytics and display. The App may use local SQLite databases, Keychain, preferences, caches, generated map artifacts, route artifacts, diagnostics, and exports. Magrathean does not operate a Teslatlas cloud relay for your vehicle history, does not run in-app analytics collection, and does not collect your vehicle-history data unless you choose to send support material or a separate written agreement says otherwise.

Teslatlas reads source-system data into its local mirror. It never writes to TeslaMate or MyTeslaMate source data and never sends vehicle commands. You remain responsible for the security, integrity, lawfulness, access controls, retention, and backup of your source systems and devices.

The local-first design does not mean no network communication occurs. Network communication may occur when you connect to a source system, use Apple services, open legal/support links, restore or purchase a subscription, display maps, enable optional online enrichment, share files, send support material, or use other device/network features.

Your data, devices, credentials, and backups

You are responsible for:

• keeping your device, Apple ID, server, database, VPN, proxy, and network secure;
• using strong passwords, TLS, least-privilege database users, access controls, and private networks where appropriate;
• ensuring you have lawful authority to process vehicle and location data;
• backing up local data and exports if you need them;
• reviewing exports before sharing them;
• deleting local data, exports, screenshots, attachments, and backups when no longer needed;
• complying with laws that apply to your use, including privacy, employment, fleet, road-safety, consumer, export-control, and confidentiality laws.

Magrathean is not responsible for loss, disclosure, corruption, or misuse of data caused by your device, server, credentials, configuration, network, third-party services, backups, share destinations, or failure to maintain your own backups, except where mandatory law provides otherwise or the loss is caused by Magrathean’s breach of these Terms.

Subscriptions and App Store purchases

Teslatlas may require an active subscription or other in-app purchase. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple, not Magrathean, processes payment details and manages subscription billing.

The price, currency, trial period, renewal period, renewal date, cancellation controls, and refund route are shown by Apple at purchase and in your Apple Account subscription settings. If a free trial or introductory offer is available, it applies only if shown by Apple and accepted by you at purchase.

Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, Apple may renew an auto-renewable subscription and charge the payment method linked to your Apple Account. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the App does not necessarily cancel a subscription.

Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund a period already started, except where Apple or mandatory law provides otherwise. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled through Apple’s refund process. Magrathean may not be able to issue refunds directly for purchases processed by Apple.

Subscription status may be cached locally to allow reasonable continuity when StoreKit is temporarily unavailable. Cached or grace access is not a waiver of Magrathean’s right to require an active entitlement.

Magrathean may change pricing, trial availability, subscription products, included features, or availability for future billing periods, subject to Apple’s rules and mandatory law. If Apple requires consent for a price increase, Apple’s process will apply.

Third-party services and source systems

Teslatlas interoperates with third-party systems. Those systems are not controlled by Magrathean. They may change, fail, rate-limit, block, deprecate, log, restrict, or charge for access. Magrathean is not responsible for third-party systems, terms, privacy practices, data retention, outages, errors, or security incidents.

Third-party systems may include:

• separately installed TeslaMate software and PostgreSQL databases;
• MyTeslaMate and MyTeslaMate-compatible API endpoints;
• Tesla services accessed by your source system or MyTeslaMate;
• PostgreSQL software and servers;
• Cloudflare Access and other access proxies;
• VPNs, local networks, hosting providers, routers, firewalls, and DNS providers;
• Open-Meteo and other optional enrichment providers you enable;
• Apple services including App Store, StoreKit, TestFlight, MapKit, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and App Store Connect.

You must comply with all applicable third-party terms. Magrathean may disable, modify, or remove an integration if needed for security, legality, technical reliability, platform compliance, or product maintenance.

Optional online enrichment

Online enrichment features are off by default. If you enable an enrichment feature, the App may send the minimum query data needed for that feature directly from your device to the named provider shown in the App or documentation.

For weather enrichment, this may include rounded vehicle-location coordinates and relevant dates derived from your local TeslaMate data. The provider returns weather context that is stored locally and used for features such as charge context, parked-drain context, and efficiency context. Magrathean does not receive those provider queries or responses unless you separately send them to Magrathean in an export, diagnostic file, screenshot, support bundle, or other support material.

Third-party provider availability, rate limits, accuracy, terms, privacy practices, and retention rules apply. Online enrichment is not guaranteed to be available, complete, current, or accurate. It is informational only and must not be used for safety, repair, warranty, insurance, resale, or regulated decisions.

You may disable supported enrichment features and clear supported local provider context where the App provides that control.

Maps and location display

Teslatlas may display vehicle routes, traces, endpoints, segments, generated map artifacts, and base maps. The App may use Apple MapKit and local route artifacts. Map display can involve Apple map services and device/network requests subject to Apple’s terms and privacy documentation.

Teslatlas route maps are based on imported vehicle data, not necessarily on your phone’s live GPS. If a future feature requests live device location, the App will use Apple’s permission system. You should not use Teslatlas maps for navigation, emergency response, safety-critical planning, or determining whether a vehicle or journey is safe.

Exports, backups, support bundles, and public sharing

Teslatlas may create exports locally on your device. No export is uploaded to Magrathean merely because it is created. If you share an export through the system share sheet, upload it to cloud storage, attach it to email, or send it to a third party, that destination receives the file and may process it under its own terms.

Private backups may contain exact VIN, places, timestamps, coordinates, route traces, settings, local annotations, costs, diagnostics, and other sensitive data. Keep private backups secure and do not share them publicly.

Support bundles and public-share bundles are intended to reduce risk by masking or removing some fields, rounding or coarsening others, and reducing place detail. They can still contain personal data or re-identifiable information. Timestamps, coarse coordinates, charging patterns, vehicle model, firmware, usage, and repeated routes can identify a person or household. Review each file before sharing it.

If you send Magrathean an export, support bundle, diagnostic file, screenshot, log, or other material, you grant Magrathean a limited right to process it for support, debugging, security, product reliability, legal, and record-keeping purposes. Do not send data about another person unless you have authority to do so.

User content and annotations

Teslatlas may allow local annotations, cost plans, notes, labels, configuration details, and other user-created content. You are responsible for that content. You must not create, store, export, or send unlawful, infringing, confidential, abusive, or unauthorised content through Teslatlas.

Local user content remains local unless you export or share it. If you send it to Magrathean, Magrathean may process it as described in the Privacy Policy.

Compatibility, updates, and changes to product features

TeslaMate, MyTeslaMate, PostgreSQL, Apple platforms, StoreKit, MapKit, Cloudflare, provider APIs, schemas, and operating systems can change. Teslatlas may not support every TeslaMate schema, database configuration, PostgreSQL version, hosted setup, provider endpoint, vehicle model, region, language, device, operating system version, or third-party change.

Magrathean may provide updates, bug fixes, security fixes, compatibility changes, feature changes, database migrations, rebuild tools, or discontinuations. Some updates may be required to keep using the App, comply with Apple rules, fix security issues, or maintain compatibility. Updates may change local database formats, rebuild generated artifacts, remove unsupported integrations, or require reconfiguration.

Magrathean does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, backwards compatibility, permanent feature availability, or continued support for any third-party system. Where mandatory consumer law requires a different position, that law applies.

Beta, experimental, and confidence-labelled features

Some features may be beta, experimental, estimated, derived, low-confidence, unavailable, or subject to source-data quality. Features such as battery estimates, parked-drain detection, efficiency grouping, cost backfill, trip rendering, route reconstruction, map optimization, local machine-learning readiness, and weather context depend on source data and assumptions.

Confidence labels and warnings are part of the output. You must not treat estimates as facts or use weak, missing, low-confidence, or corrupted data as evidence of battery degradation, vehicle defect, repair need, warranty entitlement, energy cost entitlement, insurance fact, or resale value.

Intellectual property

Teslatlas, including software, interfaces, design, text, graphics, icons, documentation, generated code, compiled components, product names, and other Magrathean materials, is owned by Magrathean or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws.

You do not acquire ownership of Teslatlas by downloading, subscribing to, or using it. You receive only the licence stated in these Terms.

You retain rights in your own vehicle data and user-created local content. You grant Magrathean only the limited rights needed to provide support, security review, legal compliance, and product operation where you send data to Magrathean or otherwise request Magrathean to process it.

Trademarks and non-affiliation

TeslaMate is a separate open-source project maintained by its community. Magrathean appreciates the work of its maintainers and contributors. Teslatlas uses the name only to describe truthful technical compatibility with software users install and operate separately.

Teslatlas does not contain, install, host, or redistribute TeslaMate. Its source integration is read-only and Teslatlas support is provided by Magrathean.

This project is an unofficial community tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the official TeslaMate project.

Tesla, the Tesla logo, Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, Cybertruck, Roadster, Powerwall, Supercharger, and related marks are trademarks or registered trademarks of Tesla, Inc. MyTeslaMate is a third-party service operated independently of Magrathean. PostgreSQL, Cloudflare, Open-Meteo, Apple, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, App Store, StoreKit, and MapKit are marks or names of their respective owners.

Other references to third-party names are for descriptive interoperability only. Teslatlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to those third parties.

Privacy

The Teslatlas Privacy Policy explains how Magrathean processes personal data. It is incorporated into these Terms. You must read it before using Teslatlas. If you process data about other people through Teslatlas, you are responsible for giving them any notices and rights required by law.

Security reporting

If you discover a security issue in Teslatlas, report it privately to [email protected] with the subject line “[SECURITY] Teslatlas”. Do not open public issues or publish details before Magrathean has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate. Do not access, copy, modify, delete, disrupt, or disclose data or systems you are not authorised to test.

Magrathean may provide a safe-harbour policy for good-faith security research. Any safe harbour is limited to its written terms and does not authorise testing of third-party systems, Apple, Tesla, TeslaMate, MyTeslaMate, Cloudflare, Open-Meteo, user servers, user accounts, or data you do not own or have permission to test.

Support

For help with Teslatlas, contact Magrathean at [email protected]. Magrathean may provide Teslatlas support through email, documentation, website pages, App Store channels, or other routes. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. Magrathean does not guarantee response times, fixes, feature requests, database repair, third-party compatibility, or recovery of local data.

For TeslaMate installation and operation, use the official TeslaMate documentation and community support channels. TeslaMate maintainers do not provide Teslatlas support.

Support may require you to provide information, screenshots, logs, diagnostics, or exports. You are responsible for reviewing and redacting information before sending it. Magrathean may refuse support for unsafe, unlawful, abusive, unsupported, or unauthorised configurations.

Warranties and disclaimers

Teslatlas is provided with reasonable care and skill where consumer law requires that standard. Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Teslatlas is provided “as is” and “as available”.

Magrathean does not warrant that Teslatlas will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, current, secure against all threats, compatible with every system, accurate, suitable for a particular purpose, or free from data loss. Magrathean does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of third-party data, TeslaMate data, MyTeslaMate data, vehicle telemetry, Apple services, MapKit, Open-Meteo, provider data, user configurations, source-system logs, or exports.

Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory rights you have under consumer law.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of mandatory consumer rights.

If you are a consumer, Magrathean is responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by Magrathean’s breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time you accepted these Terms, both you and Magrathean knew it might happen. Magrathean is not responsible to consumer users for business losses, loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

If you use Teslatlas for business or organisational purposes, then, subject to the non-excludable liabilities above, Magrathean’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Teslatlas is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for Teslatlas in the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability; and (b) £100. For business users, Magrathean is not liable for indirect, special, incidental, consequential, punitive, or exemplary loss; loss of profit; loss of revenue; loss of goodwill; loss of business; loss of data; loss of anticipated savings; or loss arising from third-party systems, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

Magrathean is not responsible for loss caused by:

• your source systems, servers, credentials, devices, network, VPN, backups, or configurations;
• third-party services, provider outages, API changes, platform changes, or data inaccuracies;
• exported files after you choose a share destination;
• use of Teslatlas for safety, repair, warranty, insurance, resale, financial, or regulated decisions;
• unauthorised access caused by weak credentials, shared devices, compromised accounts, or insecure servers;
• failure to maintain backups or to review export contents before sharing.

This section is subject to any mandatory rights that cannot be excluded or limited.

Indemnity

If you are a business or organisational user, you agree to indemnify Magrathean against claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of Teslatlas, unauthorised access to vehicle or personal data, breach of these Terms, breach of third-party terms, infringement of third-party rights, or failure to provide required notices or obtain required permissions.

If you are a consumer, this indemnity applies only to the extent permitted by mandatory law and only where the claim arises from your intentional or unlawful misuse of Teslatlas, unauthorised access to another person’s data, or infringement of third-party rights.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Teslatlas at any time. You can delete the App and cancel any subscription through Apple. Deleting the App does not necessarily cancel an App Store subscription.

Magrathean may suspend, terminate, or restrict your access to Teslatlas, support, or future updates if you breach these Terms, create security risk, misuse support, infringe rights, violate law, or use Teslatlas in a way that could harm Magrathean, users, third parties, or platform compliance.

On termination, your licence to use Teslatlas ends. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, including sections on ownership, privacy, exports, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law, and third-party terms. Local data may remain on your device until you delete it.

Legal hierarchy, mandatory rights and safer-use controls

These Terms govern ordinary use of Teslatlas and related websites, apps, public tools, documentation and support routes. They do not replace any signed master services agreement, statement of work, order form, data-processing agreement, enterprise licence, security addendum, app-store rule, open-source licence or platform term that expressly applies to a specific transaction or deployment. If there is a conflict, the more specific written agreement or mandatory platform rule controls the relevant issue.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, statutory consumer rights, data-protection rights, app-store rights that cannot be waived, or any other mandatory legal protection. Any indemnity, liability cap, warranty exclusion, termination right or use restriction is intended to apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law. Business-use indemnities do not apply to consumers except where mandatory law permits and the claim arises from intentional, unlawful or clearly unauthorised misuse.

You must not submit passwords, bearer tokens, private keys, recovery codes, .env files, raw tenant exports, production personal-data dumps, unredacted footage, confidential third-party data, special-category data, criminal-offence data, children’s data, or customer secrets through ordinary contact or support routes unless we have agreed a secure written handling process. We may reject, delete, quarantine, return or restrict unsafe material without reviewing all of it.

Security reports and vulnerability details should be sent privately and with enough information for us to reproduce and triage the issue. Do not access, copy, alter, delete, exfiltrate, disclose or publish data that is not yours. Do not run denial-of-service tests, social engineering, persistence, destructive payloads or public proof-of-concept disclosure without written permission.

Any score, audit output, AI output, quota estimate, vehicle/battery analysis, server health view, terminal output, footage report, export, diagnostic finding, security recommendation or compatibility statement is informational unless a separate written engagement expressly says otherwise. You remain responsible for human review, authorisation, backups, change control, legal compliance, third-party notices and operational decisions.

Changes to these Terms

Magrathean may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, security, provider, App Store, operational, or business changes. For material changes that adversely affect consumer users, Magrathean will give reasonable prior notice where practicable.

If you do not accept updated Terms, you must stop using Teslatlas and cancel future subscription renewals through Apple. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, except where mandatory law requires a different process.

Changes will not limit mandatory consumer rights or remedies that applied before the change.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you retain any mandatory protections and forum rights that cannot be excluded by contract. You may bring proceedings in any court or forum that mandatory law allows.

If you are a business or organisational user, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or Teslatlas, except that Magrathean may seek injunctive or protective relief in any appropriate jurisdiction.

Apple terms and third-party beneficiary

For App Store versions of Teslatlas, Apple is not responsible for Teslatlas or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Teslatlas. To the extent required by Apple’s applicable terms, Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the relevant parts of these Terms against you.

Your use of Teslatlas must comply with any applicable Apple usage rules. You represent that you are not located in a country or region subject to applicable embargoes or sanctions that would prohibit your use of Teslatlas, and that you are not listed on a prohibited or restricted party list that would make provision of Teslatlas unlawful.

Export controls and sanctions

You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws. You must not use, export, re-export, or transfer Teslatlas in violation of those laws, including where prohibited by UK, EU, US, UN, or other applicable sanctions.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your licence without Magrathean’s prior written consent, except where mandatory law gives you a right to do so. Magrathean may assign or transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, financing, or by operation of law, provided your mandatory consumer rights are not reduced.

Severability and waiver

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. The invalid or unenforceable part will be interpreted, if possible, to achieve its intended effect in a lawful way. If Magrathean does not enforce a right immediately, that does not waive the right.

Entire agreement

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any Apple or App Store terms that apply to your purchase or use form the agreement for Teslatlas. A separate written agreement signed or expressly accepted by Magrathean may override these Terms for the covered subject matter.

Acceptable use

You must not use Teslatlas to access a TeslaMate database, MyTeslaMate endpoint, vehicle-history source, Cloudflare proxy, or API endpoint without authorisation.

You must not bypass authentication, security controls, subscription controls, rate limits, or provider terms.

You must not send or attempt to send Tesla commands through the app.

Diagnostic information only

Battery-health predictions, degradation estimates, charge-doctor findings, parked-drain detection, efficiency trends, cost tracking, range, route, energy-use, and any other estimates produced by Teslatlas are informational only. They are not a diagnostic report, engineering report, service recommendation, warranty record, insurance assessment, resale valuation, battery certification, or substitute for inspection by Tesla, a Tesla-authorised service centre, a qualified technician, an automotive engineer, or the official vehicle/service record.

Read-only source posture

Teslatlas reads from a separately installed TeslaMate database or configured MyTeslaMate-compatible source into a local mirror. It never changes TeslaMate data, never writes to the configured source, and does not send Tesla vehicle commands. Do not use Teslatlas as a vehicle-control tool.

Public subscription and review access

Teslatlas may require an active subscription after any trial, except where local grace, promotional, enterprise, authorised review/test, or other approved access applies.
